Should we go with solution 1 or solution 2?

We are currently on a new horizon where the server is becoming much more active again. With the server being available 24/7, and the server now showing up on the gmod search engine, we will be getting much more traffic. Due to this change we have two proposals that we wanted to run by the community. We need your opinion in this matter, because it will affect how the community grows over the next few weeks.
Problem:
Now that we are no longer a strictly TTT community we have secured a website "http://www.desolationgaming.com". This website will be the new main page for our entire community, but it would look direly unprofessional if our main TTT forums was located at the domain https://dgcf.forumotion.com when the actual community is at the other website. Due to this issue we have 2 solutions to offer.
Solution 1:
Rebuild the forums entirely at the url "http://www.desolationgaming.com/forums". This would be a complete restart with all posts/users being reset. This would allow the forums to be hosted at the same location as the community.
Solution 2:
The other solution we have to offer would be to change the domain of our current forums to http://desolationgaming.forumotion.com. This would allow us to retain all registered users/posts, but we will have to completely rebuild the forums to suit multiple servers such as ttt, tf2, minecraft, etc. This exchange would be rather easy to do, but would make us look unprofessional as our community location and forums locations are on completely different domains and not linked and sub categorized properly.

In order for us to move forward, we'll need the new domain name.
That being said, the new forums NEED TO BE RENOVATED.

I would also agree with the first option, but if we are going to do so, we will have to get the word out to members of the forum who are not as active.
I would also add that we should refrain from making the design of the new forum too different from this one, that way people will feel like they have a better grip on things and know what to do.

Oh man, you should have been on the forum during the worst part of the post war Fister and I had, we were ahead of everyone else by at least 150 posts.
